| Who should register as a Customer? |

All natural or legal person interacting with CIPC, such as attorneys, law firms, banks, auditors, other enterprises, Government Departments and private individuals must register as customers with CIPC.

| Why should you register as a Customer? |
|
You need to be registered in order to perform any transactions on the CIPC website, and you can also monitor applications submitted under your customer code.

Customer registration is free of charge.

| How do you register as a Customer? |
|
Register online by clicking on Customer Registration. After submitting the application (by following the instructions and accepting the Terms and conditions your account will be activated immediately. When you click on next, feedback will be provided if your registration was successful or not.

| Where will documents be delivered? |
|
Customers forwarding applications for approval are requested to ensure that their preferred delivery method is entered correctly. Customers who perform bulk transactions are also advised to purchase a rubber stamp with your Customer Code and stamp all documents on the top left side corner, for ease of identification and tracking purposes. Kindly note all documents will be forwarded to addresses as specified by you per customer registration.

| Why is the director, member and accounting officer information not on the site? |
|
This information is available at a fee of R30.00.
|
| Can a customer update customer details? |
|
Yes, a customer can update his/her contact details and password. Sign on with your current customer code and password and click on customers/amend customer details.

| I indicated to your office that my documents must be posted to me, however I now wish to collect them by hand. |

Documents that have already been processed will automatically be forwarded to the delivery method "post" and customers must await delivery of this via the post office. The delivery method for documents still in process can be changed by calling the contact centre on 086 100 2472 (CIPC) or electronically by using the "amend customer details" functionality and changing the delivery method from "post" to "to collect". This change can also be done at CIPC's walk-in customers services office situated in Block F – the dti Campus - 77 Meintjies Street - Sunnyside - Pretoria.

| Why has my name reservation been rejected? |
Amongst other, the following can be reasons for rejections:
- The application form is illegible
- The prescribed fee has not been paid
- No principle business has been stated
- Comparative names exist
- Written consent must be obtained from the original owner before you can re-apply
- Qualify all names further with the wording describing principle business
- The word associates can only be used in principle business
- The phrase “Business Enterprises” cannot be accepted
- The geographical word used in the name needs to be qualified

| My documents have been mailed to the incorrect address? |
|
Provided that the address has been updated (at a fee), the mail will be redirected to the indicated address.

| What is the registered address of the enterprise? |
|
View website, Name search. Type the name of the enterprise and click on search. Upon opening, click on the Enterprise name. The business address will be displayed. This information is free on the CIPC website. If you want more information to be disclosed, you will be billed.

| Who are the directors/members of the enterprise? |
