The Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) introduced a new status field on the Disclosure Certificates called \u201cCompliance Status\u201d. The purpose of the new status field is to raise awareness on compliance levels by particular legal entities to stakeholders. Section 171 of the Companies Act, Act 71 of 2008, as amended, empowers the Commission to issue compliance notices. Some legal entities do not implement the terms of the compliance notices CIPC issues and stakeholders never get to know about the non-compliance by such legal entities.<\/p>\n
